Bob’s Discount Furniture recently announced that it partnered with the Boston Bruins to donate 250 beds to Massachusetts children in need as a part of the Massachusetts Coalition for the Homeless’ A Bed for Every Child Initiative.

On Friday, Cathy Poulin of Bob’s, and Bruins representatives, joined fifth grade students from Lincoln-Thompson Elementary School in Lynn, MA for an event at McVann-O’Keefe Skating Rink in Peabody, MA. The event included ice skating, face painting, balloon artists, as well as beds displayed on the ice to help raise awareness for youth homelessness and poverty in Massachusetts. Gifford’s Ice Cream was also on site serving their Bruins-themed ice cream, Power Play Fudge. Several students that attended the event were the recipients of these beds, just in time for the holidays. Since the inception of A Bed for Every Child, the program has delivered more than 5,000 twin beds to children living in poverty in Massachusetts.
