Norwalk Furniture to Highlight Alchemy, Handcrafted and New Boho Themes at Fall High Point Market

The Handcrafted collection of new fabrics features sophisticated and uniquely woven patterns and constructions that replicate the techniques used to create handcrafted textiles.

Norwalk recently reported that for the October 2017 High Point Market, they will highlight three themes – Alchemy, Handcrafted and New Boho – through its broad assortment of sectionals, chairs, ottomans, headboards and accent pillows. The more than 800 fabric choices include 125 new textiles for Fall 2017.

From luxe fabrics infused with metallic fibers, to authentic deconstructed looks, to carefree bohemian styles with a mix of patterns and ethnic references, new textiles feature innovative materials with a broad and diverse color palette.

Alchemy: The medieval forerunner of chemistry, alchemy focused on the supposed transformation of matter. Whether that be clay to gold or iron to silver, the process of altering a common substance – usually of little value – into a substance of great value is the driver of this trend. Modern alchemists are creating beautiful and unique fabric designs that feature gold, silver, and copper tinted metallic fibers that twinkle and sparkle. Central to this trend are fabrics with a high luster finish and a “look at me” glitz factor. Polished with luxe detailing, fabrics are featured in copper hues with touches of cream, dove and verdigris.

Handcrafted: This collection of new fabrics features sophisticated and uniquely woven patterns and constructions that replicate the techniques used to create handcrafted textiles. Deconstructed chenille, specialty embroidery, delicate matelassé and broken damask are all featured in this collection. Color highlights include deep-toned steel blue accents paired with an assortment of natural neutrals.

New Boho: This trend features an eclectic mix of flea market finds, creatively edited accents, purchased treasures and free-spirited mix of colors and fabric patterns that range from romantic to folksy. New fabrics feature an exuberant mix of bohemian patterns, ethnic references and lively colors.
