Casual Market Chicago and theMART Support the Red Cross

Furniture World News Desk on 9/13/2017

Casual Market Chicago, along with The Merchandise Mart (theMART), recently announced a donation-matching program benefitting the American Red Cross. The effort is a response to the mounting devastation Americans have experienced as Hurricanes Harvey and Irma have passed through the United States.

“Witnessing the destruction of homes and businesses in our country has been truly heart-breaking,” said Beth Hicks, Managing Director, Marketing, for the Design Center at theMART and Casual Market Chicago. “The casual furnishings industry is deeply rooted in the Southeastern and Southwestern states that have been affected, and we feel it is important for us to come together to support victims of the disaster.”

Casual Market Chicago and theMART have asked those who would like to help to text REDCROSS to 90999; $10 will be added to participants’ wireless bill and the funds will be sent to the American Red Cross. Those who donate can post their contribution to Facebook or Instagram using the hashtag #CasualCares, and theMART will match donations up to $5,000.

Casual Market Chicago organizers will bring this digital fundraising campaign to life this week, Sept. 12 through 15, with activations across the annual trade show. For more information about Casual Market Chicago, please visit www.casualmarket.com.
