Agio, USA recently announced that furniture industry veteran Raymond Harm has been named sales representative for the Southeastern US as of Sept. 1.  Harm will represent Agio among Outdoor, Specialty and traditional furniture retailers in Georgia, North and South Carolina, Tennessee, Virginia and West Virginia.

“Agio is a recognized leader in the Outdoor industry and a brand name that I’ve been familiar with for years. I’m excited to join the team,” Harm said. “Maintaining Agio’s strong relationships in the Southeast and Mid-Atlantic is my top priority, but I’m also looking forward to the challenge to increase the adoption of the outdoor category by traditional furniture retailers in those areas.”

In announcing the hiring, Mike Gaylord, Agio, USA Vice President of Sales, said, "Ray’s 35 years in the furniture industry and sales background for both indoor and outdoor categories makes him a great fit for our company. We need his presence in that territory and we’re pleased to have him join our brand, especially as we move forward in today’s evolving sales environment.”

Bob Gaylord, President of Agio, USA, said, “Whenever you have a chance to add an industry veteran to your team, you do it. Ray’s experience, knowledge of the category and the industry players will enable him to hit the ground running. We’re looking forward to having him as a part of our company."

Harm has 45 years of experience in household appliance and furniture sales, including increasing levels of authority in marketing, sales, management, and executive leadership for such significant brands as Maytag and Barcalounger. Most recently, Harm was Senior VP of Sales for Hooker Furniture, a position he held since 1999 until his retirement earlier this year. The opportunity with Agio brought him out of retirement where his skills, networking ability and sales knowledge will serve him well.

A 1972 graduate of Iowa State University (BS-Marketing), Harm is married with two sons and resides in Martinsville, Va.
