Castelle Holds Meet and Greet with Celebrity Designer Barclay Butera as Casual Market Chicago Opens

Castelle recently announced that their collaboration with renowned author and interior designer, Barclay Butera will debut for the casual industry during the 2017 Casual Market Chicago. A Meet and Greet Reception is slated to be held the first night of the market kicking off the launch introducing retailers and designers to Barclay and his creations for Castelle.

The custom expertise of Castelle and the artistry and aesthetic of Butera will be on display across an original design outdoor furniture collection. The Barclay Butera Outdoor Collection for Castelle, previously introduced during the High Point Market, will be presented for the first time in the Castelle Chicago Merchandise Mart showroom #1576 September 12 – 15, 2017.

“The Barclay Butera Outdoor Collection has received a very positive response during previous introductory markets and we are excited to now unveil it for our valued partners in the casual industry,” said Derek Ritzel, President and CEO, Castelle. “We see this expertly executed collection as a complement to the diverse high end offerings we provide. The collaboration with Butera was initially announced in June of 2016. From that time, the designer worked with the Castelle manufacturing team in the creation and execution of the cushioned dining and deep seating pieces including cushioned dining chairs, a sofa, love seat, lounge chair, ottoman and coordinating tables. Based on inspiration found in a European ceiling tile-like motif, the seating group features intricate side and back castings highlighted with strong curving arms and gold-tone finials. Completing the designer’s signature look is a gloss white finish selection and coordinating navy blue textiles.

“I wanted to design a modern way to truly bring together an indoor to outdoor design aesthetic successfully,” said Butera. “I was looking for a fresh, transitional look that will appeal to both traditional and contemporary tastes. With my Southern Californian roots, Castelle allowed me to combine within this collection my two favorite things, high-design and luxurious outdoor living. As with indoor, the result was elegant while open and approachable at the same time.”

The Meet and Greet with Barclay Butera will include a Designer Margarita reception with Butera on hand for photographs and to discuss his designs. The launch function will be held from 4p – 6p on Tuesday, September 12, 2017 in the Castelle Merchandise Mart showroom # 1576 and is open to all attendees of the market.
