The Greater Metropolitan Home Furnishings Association (GMFA) announced that Artie Eisenberg President of One Ten Home Furnishings, Seigerman’s Furniture and Interior Design, Sofabed Etc., and Furniture Galleries (HFG) as been chosen to receive the Greater Metropolitan Furnishings Association’s Pillar of the Industry Award.

Retailers, manufacturers, representatives and industry suppliers will gather for this annual event, a festive kick-off to the holiday season on November 18th at The Palisadium, Cliffside Park, NJ, just minutes from the George Washington Bridge.

Art Eisenberg's career in the business started in his dad's mattress factory in Brooklyn, NY. He quickly realized that he did not want to shadow the family business, but rather went off to open his first sofa bed store at the age of 22. Over three decades he now stands strong with the finest privately owned stores in New York and New Jersey. He attributes a lot of his success to his work ethic, which he learned from his dad as he was growing up.

“I am very honored to be receiving this award,” said Eisenberg. ”It is very nice to be recognized for hard work and dedication. I am very much looking forward to celebrating at the GMFA Dinner Dance with my family, friends, business partners, Industry associates, and employees.”

GMFA Board Member Todd Weinstein notes, “In an ultra-competitive, difficult and changing marketplace, Artie has found a way to not just survive but thrive. Along with his loyal and dedicated team, he has developed several unique retail home furnishings brands. Because of Artie's drive, entrepreneurial spirit and philanthropic work within the community, I can't think of a more deserving person to be honored as a true pillar of our industry.”

Eric Bernstein, GMFA’s President and Owner of retailer Berkshire Furniture, adds, “GMFA is proud to honor Artie with the Pillar of the Year Award, John Koziel of Flemington Department store with the Retailer of the Year Award, and Chris Clarizio with the Jerry Gans Memorial Award. This annual event, presents an opportunity for retailers, reps, manufacturers and suppliers to network with industry friends while enjoying great food, an open bar, music and one of the best live bands in the Tristate area. So bring your dancing partner.”
