Newstimes.com reported that Pilgrim Furniture City will occupy approximately 50,000 square foot store formerly occupied by Linens 'n Things in Danbury, CT. The new store will reportedly bring 25 new jobs to the area.
An article published on July 28th on Tulsaworld.com noted that, "Mathis Brothers Furniture Superstore in southeast Tulsa is working on a 100,000-square-foot expansion that will increase the size of its retail and warehouse space." In the article store manager Chris Mefford said that the expansion will create 75 to 100 new jobs and will allow the retailer and to expand product selection.
A Report by Cleveland.com suggests that in spite of a report by Britt Beemer's America's Research Group showing that consumers were less likely to buy furniture, local retailers in Northeast Ohio experienced brisk sales early this year.
