Recent Furniture Fact Survey finds 56% of shoppers browse for furniture inspiration online.

The search for a suitable sofa or comfy chair must start somewhere – according to the recently completed Alliance Data’s Furniture Facts Survey, 56 percent of shoppers browse for furniture inspiration online before hitting the aisles, while 74 percent start in the store to find the perfect piece. I thought you may be interested in covering this, or other interesting findings from the survey, such as the following:

  • BROWSERS VS. BUYERS – 51 percent of survey respondents browse for furniture to get ideas for what they would want, while 49 percent only shop for furniture when they need something specific and are prepared to make a purchase 

  • CASH OR CREDIT? – 22 percent of consumers pay for their purchases with a store credit card, with a surprising 29 percent paying with a debit card
