Wayfair Inc. (NYSE:W), an online destination for home furnishings and décor, recently announced that it has been named one of the Top Places to Work in Massachusetts in the ninth annual employee-based survey from The Boston Globe.

"It's a tremendous honor for Wayfair to be recognized among The Boston Globe’s ‘Top Places to Work’," said Niraj Shah, CEO, co-founder and co-chairman, Wayfair. "Since we started the company over a decade ago, we’ve centered our culture around an entrepreneurial spirit that encourages employees to constantly push the limits of innovation. To this day, we remain committed to cultivating our talented team, and creating a fun and engaging environment where every employee has the ability to contribute in a meaningful way.”

Wayfair offers an environment that encourages learning and growth, while rewarding results and impact. Located in Boston’s Back Bay, the company’s headquarters were meticulously designed with creativity and teamwork in mind. The expansive facility which spans seven floors, boasts an open-seating floor plan that fosters collaboration. Beyond its unique layout, the office provides many enticing amenities including unlimited free snacks and fresh fruit, a game room complete with ping pong and foosball, and unlimited opportunities to gain knowledge about other business areas with weekly Learn@Work sessions.

Top Places to Work recognizes the most admired workplaces in the state voted on by the people who know them the best—their employees. The survey measures employee opinions about their company’s direction, execution, connection, management, work, pay and benefits, and engagement. The employers are placed into one of four groups: small, with 50 to 99 employees; medium, with 100 to 249 workers; large, with 250 to 999; and largest, with 1,000 or more. Wayfair was ranked 11th in the “Top Largest Employers” category.

"In today's tight job market, competition for the best workers is intense," said Larry Edelman, the Globe's business editor. "Our winning companies know that creating a motivating and supportive environment is key to finding and keeping talent."
