Furniture World News Desk on 10/20/2016

Detroit-based Amber Engine, a services and solutions company solving product data challenges for the home furnishings and décor industry, recently announced the addition of two industry veterans joining the team as directors. Bonnie Melcher has joined the company as the Director of Manufacturer Sales. Melcher is a sales leader in the home furnishings industry with more than 20 years of professional experience in digital advertising, marketing and technology. Dan Wieczorek has been named Director of Sales for the Value Added Reseller channel. In this new position, he will be driving opportunities with service providers who support both manufacturers and retailers.

Prior to joining Amber Engine, Melcher was the Enterprise Sales Director for the home goods channel of Netsertive, a technology-based online marketing company. Before that, she was the Regional Sales Manager for advertising and branding agency Banner Marketing who has deep roots in the furniture industry. Melcher will lead strategic sales for the manufacturer channel of Amber Engine.

"I want to help home furnishings brands find ways to bridge the gap between the manufacturer and retailer," stated Melcher. "Amber Engine continues to develop cutting edge technology for the industry that will move them closer to the ultimate decision maker – the consumer."

A Michigan native, Wieczorek has spent the last 15 years at Best Buy as a technology solutions expert. Working with many clients in the home furnishings industry, his focus has been on problem solving for customer satisfaction. Before his time as Senior Strategic Account Manager at Best Buy, Weiczorek also managed a retail location for many years.

"Joining Amber Engine gives me the opportunity to leverage my skill set and apply it to a new technology that will help service providers drive retailers into the future. For an industry that relies so much on relationships, we have the foundation to give people more time to interact and innovate," said Wieczorek.

The two new hires are the latest in Amber Engine's rapid growth. In the last quarter, the company has grown from 20 team members to 31.

"Both Bonnie and Dan are proven performers who bring a tremendous depth to Amber Engine's sales team," said Jesse Akre, Chief Strategy Officer of Amber Engine. "Bonnie's business development experience with retailers and manufacturers, paired with Dan's results with technology in emerging markets, will be key to our mission and growth strategy. Bonnie and Dan will definitely help us to accomplish what we have set out to do within the home furnishings industry. The entire Amber Engine team is excited that they saw our vision and determination and wanted to join."
