Furniture World News Desk on 9/23/2016

Knorr Marketing, a rapidly growing agency for independent Home Furnishing Retailers, recently reported that they have hosted a one day Symposium for their North American retail clients and a couple of guest retailers in Traverse City, Michigan, site of their headquarters.

“We often speak about the importance of branding a retailer, but this Symposium focused on the changing generations and new ways to entice, engage and present a memorable experience to Gen X and Millennials (Gen Y) while not ignoring the Baby Boomers,” said Doug Knorr, president of Knorr Marketing.

Most of the clients in attendance were full-service clients of Knorr Marketing, where the agency handles everything from strategic planning and advertising budgets to broadcast production, newspaper inserts, direct mailings (including “trigger” mailings based on customer transactions or targeting new homeowners), fully responsive websites that automatically adapt to every device-size screen, eMailings, Programmatic Advertising, Facebook Managed Services & other social media. “We are also testing new TV broadcast measurement reports in several DMAs. Our initial experience suggests these new reports will far exceed Nielsen reports,” said Knorr.

Presentations to all attendees included “Talkin’ ‘Bout My Generation” - the challenge of marketing to three unique generations at the same time, “Reaching New Customers” – exploring new technology to reach customers, “Tools 2 Win” – a software program that automatically mines data to generate predictive analytics for retailers, and “Re-Engaging Customers” – focusing on customer retention strategies and programs that emphasize “the first sale is only the beginning.”.

Knorr’s Symposium also featured several small-group break-out sessions to review new opportunities with Google Advertising, (Pay-Per-Click) Programmatic Advertising, Design & Content Considerations for Millennials, eCommerce, new Research & Analysis techniques, Trigger Mailings for New Homeowners, Social Media/eMail Marketing and Database Mining.

Knorr Marketing presenters included Doug Knorr - CEO/President, Julia (Nuss) Carpenter - Director of Digital Services, and Account Executives Kurt Strasser and Isaac Knorr. Jeff and Jamie Winter, owners of the Furniture Mall of Kansas (Topeka and Kansas City) were invited to present their “Tools 2 Win” program which they created for their business and has since been adopted by many other retailers.

“Each of the family-owned retail businesses in attendance has a legacy of success,” said Doug Knorr, president of Knorr Marketing. “And we are pleased they came from across America and Canada to explore new ways to reach consumers across all communication channels.”
