Therapedic Set To Unveil Two New Product Lines At High Point Market

Furniture World News Desk on 9/22/2016

Bedding producer Therapedic recently announced that it planning to generate hard numbers from Bravura, and Agility at this fall's High Point Market. The two sleep systems were soft-launched earlier in the year and are on display at the company’s showroom in the IHFC Building, M-607.

According to Gerry Borreggine, Therapedic president and CEO, “We’ve learned that our best strategy is to preview our new sleep systems before the full launch in order to solicit input from directional retailers.

“In each instance, we’ve experienced a good-to-great story,” Borreggine explained. “With the insights and input from our retailers, we’ve taken what already were amazing sleep systems and make them even better,” he added.

Commenting on Bravura, an innovative specialty line of sleep systems inspired by classic rock, retailer input resulted in the company tweaking a number of small cosmetic issues. “Overall, retailers loved the covers and loved the premise and positioning of the line,” Borreggine said.

The initial specialty line, dubbed as ‘the sound of sleep’, is a four model memory foam and latex collection named after classic rock albums Silk Degrees, Sticky Fingers, Rubber Soul and Pet Sounds. All four models feature copper-infused top layers of either memory foam or latex.

Studies have shown numerous beneficial properties of copper, including anti-aging, the ability to encourage brain stimulation during sleep, being naturally anti-inflammatory and non-allergenic as well as for having the ability to improve circulation by increasing and promoting circulatory function.

The Bravura sleep systems are available in a 10” model, two 11” models and a 13” model with retail prices for queen configurations ranging from $1,299 to $3,999.

Pointing to Agility by Therapedic as another example, Borreggine confirmed that, thanks to focused input from key customers, “Agility is now an essentially redirected line.”

Specifically, Agility, the company’s bed-in-a-box program, now boasts enhanced specifications, including what Borreggine referred to as “beefed-up” visco and brand new covers that the company says actually recover much faster once taken out of the packaging.

The line also features multiple layers of different foams, but what makes these products unique is the fact that they also feature a layer of micro-coils encased in a supple, mesh-fabric to assist in the folding and compression of the product.

According to the company, the additional benefit of micro-coils is that they offer enhanced support and also provide a more agile sleep surface than most of the current products on the market.

Designed as a performance product, Agility is available with or without a knockdown foundation and can ship either directly to the retailer or to the consumer. Available now, the mattresses carry suggested retails ranging from $999 to $1,199.

Therapedic will also show retailers three models of its “super hybrid” line under the Tommy Bahama label—Barbados, Grand Cayman and Nevis.

These sleep systems feature a Leggett & Platt Combi-Quantum edge pocketed coil, which offers a unique edge-to-edge support. The line also features the company’s new Visco Floating Foam for exceptional comfort.

Suggested retails for queen-sized Tommy Bahama “super hybrid” mattresses range from $1,699 to $2,499.
