Zedbed, Natura World Win Gold Honors For Booth Design At Canadian Furniture Show In Toronto

Furniture World News Desk on 7/1/2016

Bedding supplier Zedbed, a licensee of natural and organic mattress brand Natura World, announced that they have brought home gold in the recent Canadian Furniture Show’s Best Booth Awards.

The companies’ booth won gold in the 2,500-square-foot and over category. A six-person judging panel from across the home furnishings industry selected exhibitors that went above and beyond in creating beautiful show booths.

“We completely revamped the space so that it showcased all of our designs in a fresh appealing way,” said David Gélinas, Zedbed’s executive vice president. “Our designers went well beyond our expectations in creating a beautiful, well-organized booth, and we’re grateful that the judges recognized the space with the gold award.”

Criteria for winning included creativity, imagination and originality; use of product, images and visuals in showroom design; and overall appearance and visitor experience. The Source of Furniture + Accessories, the design center housed in Toronto’s International Centre, home of the Canadian Furniture Show, co-sponsored the contest.

The show marked Natura’s reintroduction to the Canadian retail landscape. Ralph Rossdeutscher, president and founder of Natura World, said the market was extremely successful for the company, and the booth honor was a nice bonus.

“The show went very, very well with brisk sales thanks in part to the great presentation we had there,” Rossdeutscher said. “Our partners at Zedbed created an inviting layout, and we redesigned all of the backdrops with eye-catching images to draw people in to the space.”

Zedbed featured a collection of 12 mattresses, two adjustable beds and a complete lineup of sleep accessories including all-natural and organic comforters, pillows and mattress protectors from Natura were showcased in the space.

The two Canadian bedding producers signed a licensing agreement this spring under which Zedbed is manufacturing and distributing the Natura line throughout Canada.

In 2002, the company expanded into the memory foam bedding business, which remains Zedbed’s bread and butter. The company is vertical, producing its own foam brands – PURE, ZX and R2.
