Walter E. Smithe recently announced that Colleen Smithe Parker has been named Director of Advertising for Chicagoland’s premier custom home furnishings retailer. In her new role, Smithe Parker will oversee the day-to-day operations of the advertising team, including coordination of development, production and distribution of creative materials, annual promotional planning, oversight and growth of smithe.com, and management of media agency partnerships.
Her initial focus is to help elevate the iconic brand and attract a new generation of customers with new, targeted advertising campaigns and partnerships. In 2016 alone, Walter E. Smithe has partnered with several celebrity designers including Thomas O'Brien, Jeff Lewis from Bravo, and famed designer Cynthia Rowley to help attract millennials and broaden the customer base. The brand’s advertising will showcase these and other designer partnerships, as well as highlight the breadth of furniture, and expert design service available at Walter E. Smithe.
Drawing on 10 years of experience, Smithe Parker has worked with some of the most high profile advertising agencies in Chicago. Most recently, she was at FCB, where she moved up the ranks from Account Supervisor to Vice President, Management Director. She began her advertising career at Leo Burnett.
Smithe Parker is a graduate of University of Colorado at Boulder and a Chicago native. She resides in Riverside with her husband and two children.
