Las Vegas Market Accelerates Gift Leasing

Furniture World News Desk on 11/24/2015

Las Vegas Market announced that gift leasing continues to accelerate in Building C, with 18 newly-confirmed showrooms debuting on three floors – C-ONE, C9 and C10 – at the Winter 2016 Las Vegas Market, running January 24-28, 2016, at World Market Center Las Vegas. These newcomers join a previously announced roster of new gourmet housewares showrooms on C11, as well Evergreen Enterprises’ first-of-its-kind digital showroom debuting on C8 this January.

“With the conclusion of new floor launches last summer, our focus is on occupancy building and enrichment of the assortment, and we are experiencing an ever-increasing level of interest from all sectors of the gift industry,” said Dorothy Belshaw, president of Gift & Home Décor, International Market Centers. “As the leading furniture, home decor and gift destination in the western United States, Las Vegas Market is committed to an aggressive program of growth and expansion to better serve the industry’s needs for a rich and varied assortment of goods.”

Leasing activity has been especially robust on C10, where the Lifestyle Collection already has added more than 10,000-square-feet of showroom space – in just two-and-a-half months since the summer Market – from ten new tenants, for almost all of which Las Vegas Market represents their first-ever, or expanded, Western showroom presence. Newcomers for January include: novelty gift supplier Jim Spinx, opening its first showroom on the West Coast; multi-line sales agency Kathleen Milne, dramatically expanding its Western presence to feature some 20 top children’s lines; K. Hall Designs, a supplier of candles, fragrances and home fragrance, opening its first Western showroom; LAFCO, a provider of candles and home fragrance, opening its first West Coast showroom, a 1,530-square-foot space shared with Jellycat and Chronicle Books; Luke Adams Glass, offering a selection of handcrafted glass gifts and tabletop items in its first stand-alone West Coast showroom; contemporary African art supplier Mbare, debuting its first West Coast showroom; candle and home fragrance provider Nest Fragrances, opening its first West Coast showroom; textiles supplier Poppa-Artzee, presenting decorative pillows, tote bags and accessories; fragrance provider Serene House, opening its first national showroom; and fashion and accessories brand Vera Bradley, opening its first West Coast location.

Five new giftware suppliers and sales agencies will debut on C9 during the winter Las Vegas Market are: seasonal, vintage-style folk art and holiday supplier Bethany Lowe Designs; Cheung’s Rattan & Imports, featuring handcrafted wood and rattan gifts, decorative accessories and accent furniture; seasonal supplier Polar X Ornaments & Gifts; and multi-line sales agency R. Biz, showcasing an array of toys and gifts. In addition, multi-line sales agency Solutions Marketplace, will debut on C8 presenting some 22 gift and accessories lines.

Two new firms will debut showrooms on c-ONE, the innovative cross-category showcase: leading outdoor lifestyle supplier Brown Jordan Outdoor Kitchens, highlighting its upscale cooking and entertaining line; and crystal supplier Riedel, showcasing its luxury wine glasses and accessories.

Other highlights of Winter Market include continued expansion in the gourmet, housewares and casual/outdoor furniture categories; a major expansion of temporary exhibition space with the addition of a second location to The Pavilions at Las Vegas Market; enrichment of better home décor offerings; the remerchandising of the c-ONE cross-category showcase; and the enhancement of top furniture resources, and leading gift and lifestyle vendors.

Beyond exhibits, the Winter Las Vegas Market will present a variety of special events, including the 11th annual Design Icon Award honors; a presentation of Pantone’s 2015 Color of the Year; FIRST LOOK, spotlighting the best new-to-market products in four major trend categories; as well as complimentary happy hours, daily Brunch Bars, product demonstrations, free food and wine tastings, and live music; as well as a full schedule of educational programming addressing design trends, retailing strategies and more.

Las Vegas Market also offers an unparalleled range of buyer amenities, including a new campus shuttle, complimentary shuttle to/from host hotels, free parking in an onsite parking garage, fully-equipped Internet lounges, buyers’ lounges, grab-and-go breakfasts, greeters, nightly entertainment and convenient café and food kiosks.
