The American Craft Council Show Returns To Baltimore

Furniture World News Desk on 11/23/2015

The American Craft Council Retail Show reported that it is returning to the Baltimore Convention Center, February 19-21, 2016, and will feature more than 650 of the country’s top contemporary craft artists presenting their latest handmade creations in jewelry, clothing, furniture and home décor. The Retail Show runs for three days with a special $5 ticket price Friday evening after 5pm. This year, show-goers will enjoy the return of Make Room, Modern Design Meets Craft, Hip Pop and Let’s Make programs, along with a new on-site exhibition: Style Slam.

Hip Pop is an emerging artists program that will highlight the creative works of talented artists who are new to the show scene. Participating artists, who will be selected through a jurying process, will be grouped into pods where each artist will receive a display space. This community-based structure will provide a supportive atmosphere for the best and brightest emerging talents to interact with each other, as well as seasoned artists and show-goers, all while having the chance to show off their crafts and skills.

Let’s Make is an initiative that connects craftsmanship to craft by honing in on the actual process of bringing a conceptualized idea of craft to life. During the show, a variety of artisans will provide interactive demonstrations at “Inspiration Stations,” where show-goers will have the chance to participate in the actual process of creating a piece of artwork.

Style Slam is a new program designed to pair professional stylists with the talented network of ACC fashion wearable, accessory and jewelry artists to demonstrate how the statement pieces ACC is known for are the perfect fit for any fashion conscious wardrobe.

Make Room: Modern Design Meets Craft is returning for its fourth year, with this year’s theme being “4 Directions.” This home décor exhibition, which puts craft into context by featuring room vignettes created by designers who have been inspired by objects of fine craft, will feature pieces that visually communicate the essence of style in the North, South, East or West.

With a variety of specialty categories, the American Craft Council Show in Baltimore offers something for everyone. Shoppers will experience the work of hundreds of the country’s most talented craft makers under one roof, while exploring the process each artist uses to create his or her work. Don’t miss this opportunity to shop one-of-a-kind, fine-quality crafts while engaging with the country’s most talented craft makers.
