Reverie Makes Investment In Sleep Education For Disadvantaged Kids

Furniture World News Desk on 9/1/2015

Reverie, a leading manufacturer of innovative sleep systems and adjustable beds, announced its new charity partnership with Sweet Dreamzzz Inc. to raise awareness about the importance of sleep in childhood development.

Sweet Dreamzzz, Inc. is a non-profit organization committed to improving children’s health, well-being, and academic performance by providing sleep education and bedtime essentials to economically disadvantaged students and their families.

“As kids head back to school this month, it’s the perfect time to remind parents how big of an impact sleep has on children’s physical and mental development and to provide disadvantaged children with the tools they need to achieve better sleep,” said Reverie President and CEO Martin Rawls-Meehan. “Our partnership with Sweet Dreamzzz will provide many children in need the quality sleep they deserve.”
From Sept. 1st through Oct. 31st , Reverie will donate $35 for every Sweet Slumber pillow sold through Reverie.com and Reverie’s call center – enough to provide a Sleep Kit to a child in need. The Sleep Kit includes a sleeping bag or fleece blanket, a nightshirt, a teaching  teddy bear, a tooth brush and toothpaste, the children’s book Goodnight Moon, and educational materials for parents to help them promote quality sleep for their children.

The Reverie Sweet Slumber pillow has an ultra-soft, washable cover and down-alternative filling made with Reverie’s patented Dream Cell™ material. The core is made from shredded latex with different firmness levels and is hypo-allergenic, dust mite resistant, durable and ideal for any child. Natural latex also allows for better airflow than other traditional materials, providing a cool night’s sleep.
“We are so grateful for the support of Reverie. With their commitment, we will be able to provide classrooms of at-risk children with our sleep kits and our sleep education programs,” said Sweet Dreamzzz Executive Director Nancy Maxwell. “Our programs have been shown to improve the duration of sleep for children, which ultimately impacts their learning at a critical age. The trajectory of their education can be changed with the simple solution of sleep.”
