Furniture World News Desk on 8/1/2015

Zuo reported that it will remember and celebrate the life of friend and Zuo representative Joan Harvey who passed away in April. Her colleagues and friends will gather during Las Vegas Market on Sunday at 7:30 PM at WMC Bldg B B760.

A granddaughter of the Simmons Mattress owner, Harvey started working for Simmons Mattress 40 years ago, becoming one of the first women in the furniture industry. Her career included such positions as vice president of sales for Robinson & Robinson’s Furniture and national sales manager for Sofatrend, after a long relationship with Leathertrend. Most recently at Zuo Modern, Harvey was a sales representative for Texas for the last year and a half. Her partner, Tony Howe, was by her side when she passed.

“We had great plans for the future, Joan and I,” Luis Ruesga, Zuo Modern’s CEO and her friend, said. “She was one of the most passionate persons for Zuo and not sure what am I going to do without her. I will always remember you. We miss you”

A company statement said that “to know Joan was to love Joan as she was a smart, funny, kind and loving woman who was as passionate and dedicated to her family and friends as she was to her work.”

Zuo Modern will host a memorial service for Harvey on Aug. 2, during the Las Vegas Market. It will take place in Building B, space 758 at 7:30 p.m.
