Article Summary: Jerome and Catherine Pulcine also have been approved by Decorating Den Interiors to assume ownership of current business and future development rights in the Province of Ontario.

Decorating Den Interiors, North America’s largest home furnishings and interior design franchise company, announced that CPI Interiors, a 14-year-old design firm in Ottawa, Ontario, will convert to a Decorating Den Interiors franchise. CPI founders and owners Jerome and Catherine Pulcine also have been approved by Decorating Den Interiors to assume ownership of current business and future development rights in the Province of Ontario from current owners Linda and John Fagg of Cambridge. Pulcines will begin to recruit new franchise owners throughout Ontario, adding to the existing 11 franchises in the province.

“This is a major milestone in our expansion in North America,” said James S. Bugg, Jr., president and chief executive officer. “The Pulcines built a very successful business similar to ours. Joining with us will provide them with the means to expand their local business and create new opportunities for others in Ontario to have their own interior decorating business. Additionally, the Pulcines will bring solid experience and leadership for the existing Decorating Den Interiors franchises in Ontario.”

We have been exploring ways to expand and to add locations,” says Mr. Pulcine, CEO, “and we found an ideal match in Decorating Den Interiors. Our business concepts are very similar,” says Mr. Pulcine. “We both believe in a low-overhead model that brings great variety and convenience to our customers. As we begin to operate under our new name, we want to assure our customers that our service and product variety will be even better.”

“Additionally, we will be able to bring our customer-oriented approach to interior design and home furnishings to others in Ontario,” Mr. Pulcine said. “Decorating Den Interiors’ proven system will enable us to grow by providing the right kind of training and business operations for others who would like to have their own home furnishings and interior design business within a highly successful franchise network. We are excited to re-brand CPI Interiors as Decorating Den Interiors and to be able to provide new interior design and home furnishings business opportunities throughout Ontario.”

“Linda and John Fagg have been positive contributors since opening their franchise in 1989,” said Bugg. “They have been Region of the Year four times. We will miss them.” The Faggs developed franchises which are still operating in the Ontario cities of Brockville, Orangeville, Newmarket, Pickering, Cambridge, Mississauga, Vaughan, Midhurst, Etobicoke, Alton and Paris. “We will be actively recruiting franchise candidates in all parts of the province, particularly in the eastern part,” says Mr. Pulcine.
