Bob’s Discount Furniture and Planned Furniture Promotions (PFP) announced that their 2015 golf outing raised $452,000 for children’s charities. The money will benefit organizations carefully selected by Bob’s Discount Furniture’s Charitable Foundation and PFP, including the Nutmeg Big Brothers Big Sisters, Family & Children’s Aid, Connecticut Children’s Medical Center, and Camp Rising Sun, a camp for over 120 children battling cancer.

Over 250 participants took part in the annual golf event at the Tunxis Plantation Country Club on July 21, 2015, followed by a gala at The Farmington Club, where 416 guests enjoyed dinner, dancing, and an awards ceremony. The gala featured both live and silent auctions, and Bob’s Discount Furniture co-founders Bob Kaufman and Gene Rosenberg emceed the live auction. Guests included Bob’s employees, Planned Furniture Promotions members, vendors, and partners.

“We are so appreciative to our guests who helped us raise these funds for charity,” said Kaufman. “Charitable giving and community support is one of the foundations of our company culture, and this outing is always a reminder of that.”

The golf outing has raised over $6 million for charity in its 28-year history. The annual event was started by Planned Furniture Promotions, a leading home furnishings sales promotion company founded by Rosenberg. Bob’s Discount Furniture became an event partner in 1991, when Kaufman and Rosenberg started the company.

“We are thrilled that support for the golf outing and its mission have remained strong since we first started the event,” said Rosenberg. “As the event has grown over the years, so have the contributions and loyalty from our partners and guests.”
