Furniture World News Desk on 6/26/2015

Marketyze announced that it released the latest in its series of Competitive Pricing Trends reports – this time for the home furniture vertical. With home furniture sales in the US estimated at $58 billion in 2014, this sector is riding the wave of increasing consumer confidence as economies improve in the US and Europe. The home furniture industry is also benefitting from the new wealth being accumulated in emerging economies around the world.

Marketyze, a leading player in the competitive pricing intelligence solutions market, tracks hundreds of thousands of SKUs of leading retailers across a wide range of verticals and provides its customers with real-time, actionable insights into their competitive pricing and positioning.

The report uses Marketyze’s real-time pricing data from April and May 2015 to analyze the price positioning and behavior of four leading retailers in the home furniture sector: Walmart, Home Depot, Sears and Target. The report also performs a comparison of leading furniture eTailers: Amazon, Houzz, Wayfair and Hayneedle.

Marketyze CEO, Onn Manelson, said “Home furniture is typically a big-ticket item and, generally speaking, price is only one of the factors that consumers consider when purchasing the furnishings that they will literally be living with for a fair number of years. Thus, we were not certain what we would find in terms of price competitiveness in this sector. When we sat down to analyze the data, we saw that there is indeed considerable competition among the leading players that we covered. We believe that the report reveals many interesting – and in some cases, surprising -- insights about pricing trends in this vertical.”
