Gardiner's Furniture Signs Asset Purchase Agreement With Wolf's Furniture

Wolf's Furniture Company reported that in preparation for the planned retirement of Gardiner co-owner Gary Mullaney and Gardiner Vice President Bob lwanowski,  Gardiner's owners have signed an asset purchase agreement with Wolf Furniture Company. 

The five-store Baltimore Maryland based, 73 year old, Gardiners Furniture operates five stores located in  Maryland. Wolf's Furniture, the 113-year-old fifth generation family owned furniture retailer has nine stores in Pennsylvania, three in Maryland, and one in Virginia.

In addition, Wolf's reported:
  • Wolf's initial plan is to continue to sell from the existing retail locations and deliver and service clients from the Brookhill Road distribution center. All existing and pending orders will be delivered without interruption.
  • This transaction will make Wolf's one of Maryland's largest home furnishings retailers. This combination is good news for both companies, offering employees and customers, increased buying power, program innovation, employment advancement opportunities, enhanced customer services and financial strength.
  • The transition team will be led by Mr. Doug Shaffer Wolf, Senior VP, assisted by Mr. Brian Mullaney, regional manager who will be joining Wolfs, along with Ms. jocelyn Wolf joining Wolfs as a "regional assistant" to Doug Shaffer.
  • The 2 companies share many of the same suppliers, service vendors, advertising agency, banks and business philosophy.
