Mosquito-borne malaria causes one child’s death every 60 seconds. In 2013 alone, malaria killed 437,000 African children before their fifth birthday.1  Many families worry every night as they go to sleep, fearing their children will get bitten by a mosquito carrying the disease.

In an effort to help families sleep more peacefully, Got Sleep? partners with the United Nations Foundation’s Nothing But Nets campaign to donate insecticide-treated bednets, which protect families from contracting malaria while killing mosquitoes that carry it. In 2014, the specialty sleep retailer donated 3,118 nets – more than double its goal of 1,300.Mosquito-borne malaria causes one child’s death every 60 seconds. “Having an insecticide-treated mosquito net is life-changing for many living in sub-Saharan Africa – each net offers a simple and effective solution to help protect an entire family from contracting this deadly and devastating disease,” said Mike Wilson, Got Sleep?’s executive vice president of marketing. “We’re incredibly proud to help protect thousands of lives through our donation of mosquito nets and to help over 3,000 families sleep more safely and soundly.”

An innovative sleep store that helps on-the-go mall shoppers solve their sleep problems, Got Sleep? gives consumers the opportunity to explore the most highly advanced sleep technology available. For each sleep system purchased, the company donates funds for two long-lasting insecticide-treated bednets to Nothing But Nets.

Got Sleep? began its partnership with Nothing But Nets last year. Since 2006, the Nothing But Nets campaign, working with its UN partners, has helped deliver more than 9 million nets. Thanks to the continuous help from such donations, the global malaria community has cut deaths from the disease by nearly one half (47%) since 2000.
