Dormeo N.A. Teams With “Dwell With Dignity” To Provide Mattresses & Pillows For Low-Income Families

Furniture World News Desk on 11/25/2014

Leading innovator of bedding solutions, Dormeo N.A,® reported that it is teaming up with Dallas-based charity “Dwell with Dignity,” a non-profit organization of interior design volunteers dedicated to helping create better home environments for families struggling with homelessness and poverty. The company has committed to donating 50 mattresses and foundations and 100 pillows to the area’s homeless and poor over the next several months.

After learning about Dwell with Dignity from his wife, Dormeo’s CEO Jon Stowe took it upon himself to research the charity and the stories of the families it has helped pulled at his heart strings. Recognizing that collecting furnishing homes was a large part of the organization’s focus, Stowe reached out to see how Dormeo could help support the organizations efforts. In November, the company participated in its first two projects helping an Army veteran, her husband and two daughters and a single mother and her five year-old daughter.

The first of two donations will go to a mom nominated by Shared Housing and will receive four bed pillows. The second donation will go to a veteran family, partnered with Rebuilding Together Greater Dallas and Homes 4 Heroes. They are slated to receive four pillows, a Queen mattress and foundation and two Twin XL mattresses and foundations for both her daughters.

Dwell with Dignity provides and installs home interiors for families that include furnishings and art, bedding, kitchen and food supplies. Dwell believes exposing children to a nurturing home environment can inspire a standard of living that will carry-on to future generations. Similarly, exposing parents to the same environment allows them the inspiration to maintain a standard of living they can be proud of and thrive in.

“We are thrilled to announce our donation and the beginning of this relationship. Affording those who are struggling with homelessness and poverty the opportunity to experience peace of mind with our innovative sleep solutions every night is extremely rewarding,” said Dormeo N.A. CEO Jon Stowe. “Together, we are striving to ease economic hardships in the homes of those that need inspiration to keep going.”
