Shifman, a leading manufacturer of luxury two-sided, handcrafted mattresses, announced its social media marketing plans and comparative durability test results.
To celebrate its leap into social media, Shifman plans to launch a consumer-oriented, easy-to-enter contest utilizing its facebook account. The contest will require participants to like Shifman on Facebook and submit a unique photo of themselves or their families in their favorite place to sleep. The participants will then share the photo with their friends to gather likes. Those who produce the most likes will be entered to win an iPad 3. Final judging will be done by Shifman’s craftspeople who will pick the winner from the ten photos with the most likes.
“With our newly expanded online presence, Shifman hopes to reach out to more consumers by encouraging participants to spread the word about Shifman to their Facebook friends” says Bill Hammer, president of Shifman Mattress Company. “We think photos are a creative way for people to express themselves.”
In addition to the company’s Facebook contest launch, Shifman has also released the results of a comparative durability test. A nationally accredited independent testing lab found that a Shifman handmade mattress did not lose firmness over a simulated ten year period.
According to Shifman CEO, Mike Hammer: “When put through a Hexagonal Roller Test of 100,000 cycles, a Shifman mattress saw no loss of firmness while other leading mattress brands lost 8% to 29% firmness over the same period. What’s even more notable is that after only one year of simulated use, the same brands saw a firmness loss of 9% to 24%. I believe a Shifman will maintain its comfort life longer than any other mattress in the industry.”
