Weekly Furniture World Media Note #121 from Lance Hanish: The Mobile Revolution

Furniture World News Desk on 8/15/2014

While many businesses believe mobile is a collective term for a number of various devices including smartphones, tablets, wireless laptops et al, the consumer believes mobile is most frequently associated with a smartphone/cell phone.

According to exact target in a new survey, 56% selected this as the sole term whereas 14% said mobile was tablets/e-readers. 32% believed mobile was associated with devices for ‘ease on the go’, meaning that consumers felt a strong link between that device in their pockets and the connected freedom it brings.

Mobile is considered essential in consumers day-to-day lives.

89% say mobile devices allow them to stay up to date with loved ones and social events. They believe this signifies connectivity of all that is going on in their world. On average, people spend 3.3 hours a day on their smartphones.

Mobility is indispensable in the digital age. Mobile devices are our portals through which we connect with everything and everyone. Like the societal and personal effects of electricity and the Model T, the smartphone continues to revolutionize daily activities and how people perform them. Through analysis of smartphone and tablet tracking data and consumer’s response, these primary conclusions emerge about the state of mobile behavior.

Mobile in the world of integrated marketing today, is absolutely important. It is the most important aspect of your marketing strategy this year. That is why we say, MOBILENow!
