  1. is more than responding in a positive manner to customers 

  2. is being in step with the marketplace

  3. is keeping your place of business in a manner that customers are proud to have the product in their home 

  4. is offering options in price and quality

  5. is one-stop shopping 

  6. is knowing and sharing competitive features and benefit

  7. is obtaining products or information on SKUs that are not in current inventory

  8. is following up with the customer before they contact you

  9. is referencing customers to another associate if the salesperson finds it difficult to close the sale

  10. is keeping promises

  11. is respecting time and property when delivery personnel enter the picture 

  12. is inviting in-depth knowledge of customer needs, wants and personalities

  13. is following with written reflections of appreciation following completion of transactions

  14. is attitude, inflection of voice and the use of interrogatories 

  15. is meaningful when both parties benefit

  16. is encouraging customers to realize the benefit of selecting quality

  17. results in an organization's most profitable transaction - i.e. repeat sales

  18. has merit when customers benefit but also when margins are protected 

  19. is not only location and hours of operation but consideration of your associates
     
  20. not only takes into consideration the relationships with customers but also associates, vendors and community leaders
