A GOOD LEADER RECOGNIZES ...

  1. one of the major reason that businesses fail is failure to properly plan 
  2. planning involves commitment by the entire organization to stated objectives and specific, well-defined actions 
  3. planning defines corporate goals that can be accomplished in a specific time frame

  4. planning as a solo effort is seldom construed effective leadership by corporate associates

  5. planning is the responsibility of the entire leadership team

  6. planning is not a task to be delegated to consultants and personnel that are not intimately involved and responsible under the umbrella of corporate affairs 

  7. planning that involves multiple authorship is most effective

  8. planning becomes effective only when all involved take responsibility for implementation

  9. planning should include incremental checkpoints to ensure progress is being made as the plan progresses toward attainment of the desired objective

  10. planning requires courage to be counted as participants in the process

  11. planning in concert with leaders in management does not eliminate but does reduce and minimize risk

  12. planning without specific purpose is like building a structure without blueprints

  13. planning benefits from experience but should also be receptive to untraveled paths 

  14. FAILURE TO PLAN IS A PLAN TO FAIL
