Gold Bond Introduces First All-Natural, Two-Sided Hybrid Line

Furniture World News Desk on 1/16/2014

Independent mattress manufacturer Gold Bond reported that it has introduced a new, all natural hybrid bedding line designed to serve as an intermediary step between 100 percent certified organic mattresses that tend to carry a hefty price tag and mattresses that incorporate no natural materials at all. Targeting the more eco-friendly consumer, Gold Bond’s Organic Cotton series uses all natural cotton batting as well as organic latex on top of the company’s signature spring support system with varying coil counts.

All of the two-sided mattresses in the collection feature organic cotton covers on both the top and bottom panels, and on the sides. The quilt fill uses half-an-inch of cotton for a plush and comfortable feel. The boxspring offered in conjunction with the line also features an organic cotton boarder.
“One organic mattress does not fit all. The natural/organic category is now shades of green – with the darker green products generally having the higher price points. People are becoming more eco-aware but there are many in this segment that are not looking for the dark green but rather the lighter shades at affordable prices. This is where our line can help our retail partners different themselves from their competitors as well as provide them with great margins for a product that is in high demand. The Organic Cotton series uses natural materials to satisfy the eco-conscious consumers without the high price point,” said Gold Bond President Robert Naboicheck. “We also decided to create this line as a two sided option prolonging the mattress life to get even more value out of the bed. Instead of our traditional foam hybrid models we use only organic latex as a more natural option and for added comfort and support.”

The five SKUs in the collection are branded the 1000, 2000, 3000 and 4000 models. The top model, the 4000, features one-inch of organic latex per side and a 850, 14.5 gauge-coil system. The 3000 uses one-inch of organic latex per side with 804, 14.5-gauge encased coils. The 2000 includes half-an-inch of organic latex per side, while the 1000 uses just an half-inch of organic natural fiber on either side. Both models feature a 416, 13-gauge Bonnell coil system. All of the models use 20 pounds of all natural cotton batting per side and as always use 100% American made materials. Each of the beds feature the company’s signature edge-to-edge steel supports for more durability and stability. The suggested price for a queen mattress is $449-999.
