Rob Ayres, president and chief operating officer of Bush Industries, has announced his retirement effective December 1, 2005. He will continue to be available to the company to work on special projects and specific assignments. During his tenure, Ayres was a primary driver of the company’s growth from $75 million to over $300 million in revenues and helped develop state-of-the-art manufacturing and distribution facilities to meet the growing demand for Bush Industries’ innovative furniture solutions throughout North America and Europe. “I am disappointed to lose such a major contributor with a rich knowledge of the company’s history,” commented James L. Sherbert, CEO of Bush Industries. “He has made an enormous contribution to the company for many years and has remained loyal to the ‘cause’ during the most difficult times. He has provided a guiding light for many years and has often been the force behind many of the initiatives launched during nearly two decades of leadership.” Bush Industries, Inc. is a leading global manufacturer of case goods and ready-to-assemble furniture for home and office, as well as a supplier of diverse surface technologies. The company is headquartered in Jamestown, NY, with manufacturing plants in New York State, Pennsylvania, Mexico, and Germany.
