International Design Center Names New Vice President

Miromar Development, Inc. has appointed Joan Kerns Kauffman as Vice President and General Manager for the company's new International Design Center. In this role, Kauffman is responsible for overseeing the leasing, marketing and operations for the 400,000 square foot building. The International Design Center will house high-end designer and manufacturer showrooms for home furnishings, wall coverings, fabrics, kitchens, flooring, tile and stone, fine art, antiques, and everything related to interior design and decor. Most recently, Ms. Kauffman was executive vice president and general manager of the Design Center of the Americas (DCOTA) in Dania Beach, Florida, overseeing the leasing, marketing and operations for over 20 years. Phase I of the International Design Center (IDC), comprising 250,000 square feet on three floors, is nearing completion, and is scheduled to open this fall. Located on Corkscrew Road and 1-75, the 38-acre site across from Miromar Outlets will be comprised of the International Design Center, a hotel to support the facility, and a 50,000 square foot office building. IDC will accommodate the growing demand for sophisticated and high quality home furnishings and accessories on the west coast of Florida, serving consumers and design professionals from Naples all the way to Tampa and Orlando. Miromar Development Inc. is an international commercial and residential real estate development company with corporate offices in Estero, FL and in Montreal, Canada. The company is currently developing Miromar Lakes Beach & Golf Club, a resort-style residential community offering 2200 luxury estate homes, single-family villas and coach homes from the mid $600,000s to over $6 million.
