15th Edition of Movelsul Brasil 2006 Furniture Show In March

Between March 13 to 17, 2006, the city of Bento Gonçalves, in the southern part of Brazil, will be hosting the most representative international furniture show in Latin America, the MOVELSUL BRASIL 2006, now in the fifteenth edition. This show was born to support the commercial needs of the furniture manufacturers in this city – the second largest export center in Brazil, and now supports the furniture industry for the whole country, becoming reference for national and international store owners around the world. Being a business show, the main mission is to promote the development of the national furniture sector, strengthening the commercial relationships between the industry and their clients. In terms of export, the organizers develop actions that are directed to the international consumer market, such as the Buyer Project. During five days, the visitors and the importers have a chance to meet the new trends in national furniture and the capacity of creation of the industries, through the designs and innovations in raw materials. This is achieved through the Movelsul Design Award (Prêmio Salão Design Movelsul), now in the tenth edition. This award stands out as the most important in Latin America. In the 2004 edition, over 1,000 projects were evaluated, setting a new record. For the 2006 edition, R$60 thousand will be distributed between the winners in each category, from students to professionals. MOVELSUL BRASIL 2006 is promoted and organized by the Bento Gonçalves Construction and Furniture Union (Sindicato da Construção e do Mobiliário de Bento Gonçalves) – SINDMÓVEIS. The Expo Center, where the show will take place, is considered one of the largest in Latin America, with more then 50,000 m2 of covered and climate controlled area. During the 2004 edition, 434 companies from 14 states in Brazil presented their products. There were 33,120 professionals visiting the fair – 1,412 importers from 50 countries. Buyer Project With the financial support from the Federal Government/Apex, MOVELSUL BRASIL has it Buyer Program, where importers from different countries are invited to visit the show to meet and participate in business rounds with the Brazilian exhibitors.
