Schnadig Corporation Announces 1996 Fabric Vendor Performance Awards

Schnadig held Fabric Vendor Performance Reviews with all of their major fabric vendors over the last two weeks. The Vendor Performance program began in 1994. At that time, Schnadig met with all of their major fabric vendors to outline their quality and delivery goals. Each month a "report card" is sent to the vendors. In addition, formal meetings are held annually to discuss goals for the future and any requirement changes needed, review the mill's performance and elicit feedback from them for improving Schnadig's role as a partner in the relationship. "The commitment on the part of our fabric vendors has been a major factor in the success of our "Living" Rooms concept, which offers fully coordinated rooms shipped within two weeks to our retailers," remarked Sondra Rosin. She continued, "We wanted to recognize those suppliers who not only supported, but exceeded the company's expectations in 1996." Eighteen mills participated in the reviews, with three receiving awards for best 1996 performance. Awards were presented for On-Time Delivery and Quality. Presenting the awards were Ravi Kumar, Vice President Operations, and Sondra Rosin, Director of Fabric Merchandising. The winners were: Valdese Weavers was recognized for "Best Quality" with a rating of 95.1%. Culp, Inc. was given the "Best On-Time Delivery" award for 1996. Their 96. 8% rating exceeded the goal of 95%. "Best Combined On-Time Delivery and Quality" was awarded to Collins & Aikman Products Co., a new source in 1996.
