Manufacturers will have an exciting new furniture market venue in Las Vegas next summer. Plans for the new event, to be known as The Las Vegas Furniture Show, were announced today. The first show will be held in the Sands Expo Center on July 19-21, 2005. Organizers said the event has been under discussion and in development since early last year after a group of furniture manufacturers gathered together to discuss the opportunities that Vegas will offer the entire furniture industry beginning in 2005. At the same time the administration of the Sands Expo Center was exploring the possibility of developing a furniture event of their own and had discussed the idea with several national trade show producers. The show is being produced by Triad Expositions, LLC; a national trade show development and management firm based in Louisville, Kentucky. Triad's personnel have produced over 100 national trade show events; three of which have been listed as Tradeshow 200 events (similar to the Fortune 500 company listing). Triad President, Stephan Phelps noted that the show is off to a very strong start. "In over 25 years in this business I have never seen such a positive early response to an event". Phelps added that the show venue is a very positive aspect. "The Sands Expo Center is one of the finest facilities in the country and is located in the heart of Las Vegas' famous strip. "Most every buyer that will be coming to Vegas will stay in a hotel located in this area". Phelps also noted that the buyers will really benefit the most. "Our show will offer yet another venue to shop for furniture". "Having as many manufacturers showing as possible helps the buyer make more productive and cost effective use of their time", he added. The show will offer temporary showroom space to manufacturers at a very cost effective rate.Phelps said there are also plans to assemble a steering committee of manufacturers to help guide the show's production and promotion between now and the first show. A sales brochure will be sent to manufacturers shortly and space will be reserved on a first come, first served basis after that. "On early reservations alone, the show is close to being half sold", Phelps said. "We very possibly will need additional exhibit space before it's over".
