LIS Corporation Finalizes Purchase Of Bassett Mattress: Premier Bedding Group Is Exclusive Bassett Bedding Supplier

LIS Corporation, an investment company with holdings that include Premier Bedding Group L.L.C. (PBG), a mattress and bedding company, has finalized its purchase of the Bassett Bedding Division of Bassett Furniture, it was announced by Michael Ertel, President and Chief Operating Officer, PBG. Premier Bedding Group is the exclusive supplier of Bassett Bedding and introduced a new line of high-end Bassett mattresses - Carrington Chase by Bassett - at the recent International Home Furnishings Show in High Point, NC. "We are very excited that our acquisition of Bassett Bedding is complete," said Ertel. "Bassett Furniture Industries has nurtured a highly recognizable brand name that conveys quality to the consumer. We certainly intend to leverage the Bassett name and expand the brand with new lines like Carrington Chase." In addition to the product line, PBG has acquired Bassett Bedding's 10 operating facilities and has offered employment to the company's 320 personnel. PBG will be the sole supplier of bedding to the Bassett Furniture Direct stores which will expand to over 200 locations throughout the U.S. over the next five years. The company will continue to grow sales of all four of its bedding brands through independent bedding and furniture dealers throughout North America. Premier Bedding Group, headquartered in Tampa, FL, is a mattress company and the exclusive North American licensee of Bassett mattresses. The company's product lines include Carrington Chase by Bassett, Dream Maker by Bassett, Performax and Nature's Rest. PBG was recently formed by LIS Corporation, an investment company with holdings in the bedding, marketing/communications and hotel industries.
