Women in the Home Industries Today (WithIt) is hosting several events and fund-raising activities during the spring International Home Furnishings Market here. All events are open to members, prospective members and guests. EDUCATIONAL BREAKFAST Friday, April 19, 7:30 to 9 a.m.: "Marketing to Women, Post 9-11," a presentation by Dish, a women-focused division of marketing communications firm Mullen. Sponsors are Intellitek and the International Home Furnishings Center. The event, which includes a continental breakfast, will be in Ballroom A of the IHFC, Green Wing, 11th floor, Club Level. MARKET SOCIAL Saturday, April 20, 5:30 p.m.: Cocktails, networking event and a silent auction, including such items as a bed and breakfast getaway in Natchez, Miss.; a weekend getaway at a condo in Steamboat Springs, Colo.; a weekend getaway in Atlanta, including dinner in Buckhead; a Natchez coffee table book; and gift certificates to Domain and Storehouse. COMPETITIVE INTELLIGENCE/TRENDS WRAP-US Sunday, April 21, 6:30 p.m.: WithIt’s market trends wrap-up will be in the Weco North American showroom, 220 Elm, #302. Light refreshments will be served. A drawing will be held for raffle ticket winners. RAFFLE: WithIt’s board of directors will be selling raffle tickets during market for $5 each, five for $20 or 12 for $40. Prizes include a $500 gift certificate from Domain, a home office group from Adesso, a decorative chest from Magnussen Presidential, a subscription to the TrendCurve, a framed mirror by La Marche from Alchemy at Home, items from Mario Industries and Passport Furniture and signature lanterns from Interlude Home and Garden. MENTORING DAY: Stanley Furniture Company is sponsoring a WithIt Day of Mentoring at market on April 23. More than 60 students and more than 30 WithIt members are expected to participate. College students from eight schools in North Carolina and Virginia are being paired with professionals in their area of interest. Following the morning at market, they will gather in the International Home Furnishings Market Media Center for a luncheon. WithIt President Kimberley Wray will speak.
