Huntsville Wholesale Furniture, dba Ashley Furniture HomeStore, donated 40 Mattress Sets on Friday November 11, 2011, to the Christian Service Mission (CSM) of Birmingham to assist Alabama residents victimized by the April 2011 tornadoes.  This is the second collaborative effort between Ashley Furniture and CSM, who also worked together to provide immediate relief in parts of Alabama and Joplin, MO, both substantially devastated by storm outbreaks earlier this year.

Ashley Furniture trucks arrived at the CSM Warehouse early Friday morning met by enthused workers ready to get the large shipment of Bar Harbor mattress sets, an Ashley Furniture signature sleep line, unloaded and prepared for distribution to the expectant families.

Ashley Furniture HomeStore Owner, Woody Marks, attributes the development of the Mattress Giveaway concept to the A Hope to Dream project, an ongoing Ashley program that donates $5 for every mattress sold, towards the purchase of mattress sets for less fortunate children.  In conjunction with these sizeable mattress donations, Ashley Furniture and CSM will also be assisting storm victims obtain additional bedroom furniture.  By providing high quality bedding and furniture, both organizations hope to see the lives of families impacted by the April storms enriched, in addition to restoring much needed resources.

Experiencing the ravaging effect of the April storms firsthand, one of its store locations having sustained extensive tornado damage, Ashley Furniture hopes more attention is given to the continuation of relief efforts in the impacted areas.
