For decades in America, the day after Thanksgiving signals the start of the holiday shopping season. Known as Black Friday, the busiest shopping day of the year, retailers open as early as 4 a.m., offering great promotional sales.
This year, Art Van Furniture announced that it has created a new shopping holiday geared specifically towards readying the home for the holidays. Black Saturday will take place at all Art Van Furniture stores the Saturday before Thanksgiving, which falls on November 19th this year.
This exciting day comes with a number of perks. Stores will open from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m., so there's lots of time to shop, and waking before the crack of dawn is not necessary. The first 100 guests at each store will receive a special gift, and the same incredible deals prepared for Black Friday will be available on Black Saturday, but the furniture is guarantee to be delivered before Thanksgiving day. For example, queen beds under $300 and a La-Z-boy sofa as low as $577.
"Black Friday is traditionally a day reserved for getting a jump start on your holiday gift purchases," explains Art Van CEO, Kim Yost. "Black Saturday will specifically focus on getting your home ready for the holidays. Ensuring that, all purchases made on Black Saturday will have guaranteed delivery in time for Thanksgiving."
