Art Van Furniture announced that it has completed a $6 million investment in “the science of sleep” by expanding and renovating nearly three dozen bedding departments located within its stores as well as opening three freestanding mattress stores under the name Art Van PureSleep.
The investment reflects Art Van Furniture’s leadership commitment to improving the quality of life through restorative sleep, which is reflected in the retailer’s ability to account for one out of every two mattress sales in the state.

Using exclusive technology, Art Van PureSleep’s proprietary state of the art computer diagnostic system precisely matches each person to the right mattress. In line with this scientific theory, Art Van PureSleep experts also stress the importance of a proper pillow for correct postural alignment and a good mattress protector to safeguard themselves and their investment.
The multi-million dollar investment affects 34 Art Van PureSleep bedding departments throughout the state as well as the creation of three freestanding, 5,000 square foot stores located in Canton, Rochester Hills, and Troy, with a fourth freestanding store planned in Brighton. Over 850 sales associates received extensive advanced training in both product and diagnostic technology with the emphasis on educating the consumer on the importance of sleep.
